Diet and Cancer

Eating well can help you at every stage of cancer treatment and recovery.  It can help boost energy levels, keep your body strong and help you cope with side effects.  During treatment, eating well can sometimes become more difficult.  Sue and Jennifer can help you adjust what you are eating, whilst still ensuring you are eating a healthy balanced diet.  Perhaps you will need more of some foods, like protein foods, and less of others to help meet your nutritional needs and keep your strength up?  We can work with you through the options that best suit you.

During the times when you feel well, we can help find healthy foods focusing on fresh rather than processed foods.  We can talk to you about exercise and the role it plays in keeping you strong, as well as understanding the need to rest and reduce stress

During your times of active treatment, we can help you with tips on how to keep your fluids up when you are nauseous, to eat safely to avoid food contamination and how to manage your intake with taste and appetite changes.

Together we can work to keep you as nutritionally strong as possible during this challenging time.
