What is gut health?

Gut health is about choosing to eat some foods, so they can benefit our overall health. There are billions of microbes which live in our intestines. Some of these microbes can have powerful positive impacts on our health. The opposite is also true: some microbes can have a negative impact on our health.

Eating for gut health means choosing to eat the foods which improve the balance of ‘good gut microbes’. It also means trying to limit eating the foods which promote overgrowth of the ‘bad’ or ‘unhelpful’ bacteria .
