Sue Jones, Wahroonga Dietitian

Sue enjoys food too! Sue is a keen cook who has always enjoyed preparing and eating tasty meals and snacks.

Her interest in food, nutrition and health are what influenced Sue, as a young teenager, to be a Dietitian. Sue is still passionate about her career, 30 years later.

Sue studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Sydney University, graduating in 1987. This followed her undergraduate Science degree at Sydney University, and an Honours degree with in the Human Nutrition Unit. Sue’s Honours project was about understanding the glycaemic and insulin responses to foods, under the guidance of Dr Jenny-Brand Miller. Sue understood about the Glycaemic Index (GI) well before most people!

Sue has worked in several of Sydney’s public and private hospitals as a Dietitian. She has worked in private practice for more than 15 years. Sue has also worked in a variety of other roles as a Dietitian, including workplace health, and working for the nutrition support company, Nutricia. Her genuine interest in people is what led Sue back to private practice again.

Sue has lived locally for more than 28 years. She has managed to combine work with bringing up a busy young family. Sue understands how life’s ups and downs can affect what you eat. Sue always keeps in mind the fact that food ideas and suggestions need to be practical, and able to fit with busy lifestyles.

Sue keeps up to date with research relating to diet and nutrition issues, by attending conferences, and listening to experts in the field. Sue will help you to apply this information to your situation.
