Do I need a referral to see Sue?

No, You do not need a referral to see Sue. Come and see Sue any time you like.

Can I get any rebates for seeing Sue?

Private Health Funds give rebates for seeing an Accredited Practising Dietitian.  If you are in a Private Health fund, you are probably eligible to get a refund for seeing Sue, through your ‘extras’ cover. You may like to check exact amounts with your fund, as this varies for funds and your level of cover.

You may be eligible to get a refund from Medicare. Sue is registered with Medicare. You will need to ask your GP if they can prepare a Team Care Arrangement, which is the paperwork you need to claim rebates with Medicare. You need to bring any Medicare paperwork to your initial appointment in order to be able to make a claim through Medicare. You can get your Medicare rebate processed on the spot at the time of your appointment.

What are Sue’s fees?

Initial Dietitian consultation fee:    $182.00. Expect to spend an hour with Sue for your initial consultation.

Standard Review consultation fee:  $91.00.  Expect to spend 30 minutes with Sue for review consultations.

Extended review consultation fee: $140.00- $180. Extended appointments are 45-60 minutes with Sue. The fee will be based on how long you spend in the review appointment. ie: whether you spend 45 minutes or 50 minutes or 60 minutes in the review appointment.

Home visits:

  • Initial home visit fee:  $300
  • Review home visit fee: $180

Home visit fees may be charged at a higher rate if significant travel time is involved.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Sue understands that sometimes you are unable to keep an appointment. If cancellations are necessary, please give as much notice as possible. This helps Sue to be able to offer your appointment to someone else. Last minute cancellations make things difficult for Sue. Please be considerate. If you are repeatedly inconsiderate, you may receive a cancellation fee.

Does Sue do home visits?

Yes, Sue can do home visits to nearby suburbs. Please see above for fees.

Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?

It is not necessary to bring anything to your first appointment.

If however you have some blood test results, Sue would be happy if you do bring them, as this gives her a better idea of your current health issues and situation.

Do I need to do a Food Diary before I come?

You do not need to do a food diary.

If you are happy to do a food diary and bring it to show Sue, this is always useful, so she is very happy to see it.

Does Sue conduct tele-health appointments?

Yes. Sue is all set up to conduct tele-health appointments. Since the COVID19 restrictions, tele-health appointments have been available.

During tele-health appointments, you receive the same high level of expert guidance and support as you do in person. Your concerns will be resolved equally as well as during to face-to-face consultations.

The tele-health system Sue uses complies with Australian Privacy Principles, and all appointments remain confidential.

Please request a tele-health appointment if you feel this would suit you.

How can I get to the appointment at Redleaf Ave?

Parking is available behind and underneath the building in Redleaf Ave.

Parking is also available in Wahroonga Village council carpark behind the village shops, accessible via Railway Avenue or Coonanbarra Road

The rooms in Redleaf Ave are a short 3-5 minute walk from Wahroonga train station.

Look for the red brick building just near the roundabout.

How can Sue help me? I already know what I should be doing.

Sue is an Accredited Practising Dietitian.

As such, she bases her discussions on facts, understood by keeping up to date with the latest scientific evidence.

Sue uses a client-centred approach to help you with your food and eating dilemmas.

Sue understands that you are different to everyone else. Your health and lifestyle issues are what make you different.

Sue will help you with whatever food and diet-related issues that you feel you are struggling with.

Sue’s advice, guidelines and recommendations are based on scientific research, but tailored to meet your specific needs. They are individualised to suit your situation.

Does Sue see people with eating disorders?

No, Sue does not consider herself adequately trained to see people with eating disorders. She can certainly recommend another Dietitian who might be suitable.

Does Sue see children?

Yes, Sue loves helping children and teenagers, as well as all other ages.

If you are seeking advice for your baby, Sue can recommend another Dietitian who has more up to date training in this specific area of Dietetics.
